A Visit to the Library - 26.10.2018 - It was very useful to find out how to use the school library this morning. We now know where to find books about our author Roald Dahl!

Cornerstones - 25.10.2018 - We did our Love to Investigate Science work today. The children were investigating how water travels through trees to answer the question: Why are Trees Tall?

English - 24.10.2018 - Values Bear enjoyed having a peaceful rest in the shelter we built for him today. Then the children wrote an explanation text about how to build a shelter.

RE - 23.10.2018 - Today we discussed why someone would become a vegetarian and how this might impact on their daily life. We then discussed one of the five Buddhist precepts ‘not to harm living things’ and watched a film ‘Jains caring for others and the environment’.

Cornerstones - 23.10.2018 - Today was our Express day in Year 3. We dressed up as Gods and Goddesses and learnt about the Celtic Religion. The children went to Year 4 to tell them all about what they have learnt about Tribal Tales.

Cornerstones - 19.10.2018 - The children had great fun this morning doing a quiz to test their knowledge about our topic. They were VERY competitive and it was VERY loud!

Computing - 15.10.2018 - In Purple Mash this week the children were learning about ‘if’ commands and devising their code to include one.

PSHE - 15.10.2018 - We have been learning what to do in an emergency while we wait for an ambulance to come.

World Mental Health Day - 10.10.2018 - The children learnt about how people can be suffering from a mental health condition but no one around them may know. It is important to know how to take care of our mental health so we learnt about ‘mindfulness’.

RE - 9.10.2018 - We watched a film about ‘Fischy Music’ who are a band of Christian musicians. They were performing their song called ‘Make a Difference’ at the Greenbelt Festival. Afterwards, the children thought about their environment and what they would like it look like.

Mathematics - 9.10.2018 - Working out our Anchor Task.

Cornerstones and English - 9.10.2018 - In our work about the Iron Age, the children have learnt about The Lindow Man, a 2000 year old buried body discovered near Manchester in 1984.

Black History Day - 5.10.2018 - Today we were learning about Mahatma Gandhi who fought for people’s civil rights following his experiences in South Africa. The children wrote about his life and draw portraits of him.

RE - 2.10.2018 - This week we were thinking about what we could do to raise money for charity as part of our work on ‘sharing and being generous’. We researched three charities in small groups and then voted as a class for the one we would support with a fund raising event.

Collective Worship - 28.09.2018 - We enjoyed watching the class assembly delivered by 5F. It was all about being healthy through keeping fit. Lots of singing and budding dancers galore! Well done everyone!
PSHE - 28.09.2018 - We were learning how to call 999 in an emergency this week. There are four emergency services. Do you know what they all are? The children did a role play of a 999 call.

RE - 24.09.2018 - The children discussed the sharing element of Zakah, the third pillar of Islam. Then they chose a charity that they felt deserved their generosity.

Collective Worship - 14.09.2018 - This week we have been thinking about our Value of the Month which is ‘hope’. We learnt that hope means when you want something to happen that is actually possible. A child from each class is taking home our Values Bear on Fridays to write and draw about the things that ‘hope’ means to them.
