Children learnt about Europe. They tasted French food such as fromage, crepes, baguettes, croissants and quiche. They discussed the smell, appearance, looks and taste.

The Great Cardboard Castle Project

Children celebrated the diversity we have at Alston and in Britain. They discussed how we are different but the same through workshops. They also learn about tolerance and respect!

Adryan won the A-factor. He danced his way through the semi-finals and final. Congratulations!

UNICEF CHANGE CHALLENGE!

Children brought in change for children in Syria. Year 2 raised and amazing £340.68. Well done Year 2, an amazing effort!

UNICEF day 13.5.16. Children had a non-uniform day and contributed money towards children in Syria.

African Drumming Workshop

Djembe

The children got to take part in an African drumming workshop. They were each given a djembe to play. We were taught about African culture and music.

The children made Easter bonnets! They got to show the school their bonnets at our parade. Well done to everybody that joined in!
To support your child in studying about Africa, we are holding a drumming workshop on 24.3.16. The children will be given the opportunity to play African drums and will learn the importance of music to the African culture. The cost of the workshop is £2. This is a fantastic opportunity for your child, please don't miss out! Please return consent forms as quickly as possible.

As a school, we ran around our arena. We tried to complete as many miles as possible for Sports Relief!

Paper Planes Investigation

We investigated what makes a paper aeroplane fly. We found out that if you add a paper clip to the front of the plane, it will fly further!
