We enjoyed taking part in the Easter Bonnet Parade today.
Just look at our wonderful bonnets.
The winning bonnets look amazing.
Well done to all the children who took part and thank you to our fabulous families for all their help in creating the stunning bonnets.

The children in Reception have been thinking about the Christian festival of Easter.
We found out that it is celebrated in different ways around the world.
The colourful eggs in Poland and kite flying in Bermuda are some of our favourite ways to celebrate Easter.
We enjoyed our ‘Easter Egg Hunt’ too, especially eating the chocolate eggs.

Reception children enjoyed taking part in fun Sports Relief activities.
We ran races, jumped hurdles and danced!
All this activity was very exciting and very tiring.
We took deep breaths to calm down and relax.

The children in Year One enjoyed finding out about or minibeasts.
The children explained what they made and
talked about the different materials they used aswell as
the different ways to attach all the features of the minibeasts.

The children are very excited about making their own Easter bonnets.
Please help your child with all the tricky cutting and sticking.
Next week is another busy week of fun and learning.

The children had a wonderful time today.
Thank you to all the Mums and Dads and Grandpas, Grandmas,
Aunties and Uncles who came along to the 'Express' show.
The children enjoyed talking about their learning
and sharing the models they created.
They have enjoyed finding out about different types of transport
and thinking about how people travel.

We found out that combining two of the Numicon
pieces makes the number bigger.
We added the two numbers,
by counting all the cut-outs,

Have you noticed the shape of lots of packages?
Reception children have been thinking about some familiar 3D shapes.
We can describe some 3D shapes and talk about which 3D shapes will stack, slide or roll.
You can help your child by looking for 3D shapes at home and in the environment.

Today the children and staff at Alston Primary School dressed in green.
It was a special day.
Today we remembered our teacher Mr Green.
He helped many of the children at Alston to discover their sporting talents.
We joined in with lots of fun sporty activities
and supported a charity to help others.

Today the children enjoyed talking about their friends.
We decided that friends are very important.
Friends make us happy so we need to look after them.

You could chat about some of the wonderful things about your friends.
The children created special friendship chains.

The children had an amazing time exploring
some different types of transport today.
The children learnt the names of the vehicles,
discovered some features and then described how different vehicles are used.
