The Hygiene Angels

Wednesday 10th June 2015

Today RS were visited by the Hygiene Angels who taught us all about germs and how to keep our hands clean. Some of us were germ detectives and hunted for germs around the hall using a special ultraviolet torch.

How to wash your hands like a Hygiene Angel.

1. Wet your hands.

2.Add soap to your hands.

3.Make sure you wash in between your fingers.

4.Make sure you wash the back and front of your hands

5.Wash your thumbs.

6.Wash your wrists- they are still classed as part of your hands.

7.Rinse off the soapy water.

8. Then dry your hands.

Now you know how to wash your hands just like a Hygiene Angel.

St Georges Day

Thursday 23rd April 2015

Today RS learnt all about the history of St George. George was very brave and defeated a scary dragon all on his own to save the kinds daughter. The children thought this was very impressive. We also learnt about William Shakespeare because it was his birthday. To honour William Shakespeare's birthday we wrote a class poem.

Our trip to Birmingham Cathedral.

Wednesday 25th March 2015

Below are some pictures of RK and RS on their trip to Birmingham Cathedral where we learnt about the different features of the building and the Christian Religion. We also looked at how Christians celebrate Easter and why it is so significant to them.

World book day!

Thursday 5th March 2015

During World Book Day RS dressed up as characters from the story Meg and Mog written by Helen Nicoll. We made our own magic potions and carried out some really fun activities making creepy creatures out of play dough, cone witches and playing with bubble paint. We got really messy but had lots of fun.

Come and watch Meg and Mog and see why RS love it so much!

MEG and MOG - Great cartoons for children. Your Kids will love it! Meg, Mog and Owl. Very first episode of the animated series based on the picture books by Helen Nicoll & Jan Pieńkowski. Meg and Mog are the heroes of a series of children's books written by Helen Nicoll and illustrated by Jan Pienkowski.

The children in RS really enjoyed Diversity Day. Everyone got to dress up in multi-colours and play lots of fun activities to help us learn about our similarities and differences.

We read the story 'it's okay to be different' by Todd Parr. It was really interesting because it helped us appreciate our uniqueness and how it is ok to be ourselves.

We are currently reading the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen. RS then went on a trip to Moseley Bog Nature Reserve. We had so much fun hunting for our bear, playing lots of fun games and carrying out loads of lovely activities such as bark rubbing and making a house for a mouse.
