Our trip to Birmingham Cathedral

World Book Day
Thursday 5th March 2015
As part of World Book Day the children in RK dressed up as their favourite characters. During the day we looked at three fantastic stories written by Helen Nicoll. All of the stories were about a witch called Meg and her cat Mog. We made our own potions and tried to turn each other into frogs. We had so much fun!
The children in RK really enjoyed dressing up in multi-colours to celebrate Diversity Day.
We explored lots of different activities to help us to learn about our differences and some of the challenges we face.
Miss Keight shared a story by Todd Parr called 'It's Okay to Be Different'. It helped us to think about all the ways that we are different. Our favourite part of the story is 'It's okay to eat macaroni and cheese in the bathtub. See if you can spot the picture.
At the moment we are reading 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen. RK had lots of fun exploring Moseley Bog and Nature Reserve looking for the bear from the story. We went through the long wavy grass in the meadow, the thick oozy mud in the woodland and the deep cold river. You can see how much fun we had in our photos. Take a look!
Watch Michael Rosen share his exciting story. Try out the actions as you join in with the words.
Don't forget to look scared!
