Library

Today, one child from each class in Years 1-6 had the opportunity to visit the local library. We were able to look at various books in the children's section - we learnt an interesting fact about a mummy that lived 2500 years ago! We also enjoyed the workshop involving a fantastic story about friendship and an activity that involved making a recipe for a good friend. We created  fantastic recipes using wow words to describe our friends - we can't wait to share them!

3M have been enjoying reading Gangsta Granny by our author of the month. We have recently found out that Granny is actually an international jewel thief - we find this very hard to believe!

Reading competition: Create your own Gangsta Granny costume using this worksheet. Bring your costume with you and come and show Miss Mirza your costume in the school day (morning in 3m or lunch times in the library) to get your picture taken. The competition closes on Wednesday 19th November. The best dressed will receive a prize and their picture will go on this page (optional). Remember to get permission from parents to have your picture taken. I look forward to seeing all of your fantastic costumes!

Year 3 have enjoyed reading this book written by our Author of the month. The children particularly enjoyed joining in with some words, doing the actions and giggling at the funny parts of the story!

Author of the Month - October 2016

Author of the Month - October 2016 1

Every month we will celebrate an Author and their contribution to the children's learning. We have time available for the children to visit the Library during lunch times. During this time they can: choose a book written by the author, choose an activity or write a book review. We would love to know what the children think of the author, the writing style and the plot of the story!
