It is a celebration lasting two days where Jewish people celebrate their New Year.  We learnt that it's a time for people to think about their priorities in life and to reflect on what has been achieved in the past year as well as a time of asking for forgiveness for previous wrongdoings. We looked at the rituals involved during this celebration including the blowing of the Shofar (a ram's horn trumpet). The sound of the shofar starts a ten-day period known as the 'Days of Awe', which ends with the festival of Yom Kippur.
