This week in Reception we have been

having fun wit 2D shapes.

We made patterns and we went on a shape hunt

to find items that looked similar

to the shapes.

Today the children in Reception discovered

a wooden shed in our Outdoor Area.

We wondered who was inside.

'I think it's a little pig.'

'Is it a black sheep?'

We decided to build a house

for all the animals we think might be living

in our little wooden shed.

Gingerbread Cookies

The children in Reception have had a wonderful time baking

gingerbread cookies this week.

The children decided how to decorate their cookies

and talked about the yummy ginger taste.

You could try to bake your own gingerbread cookies at home.

The children in Reception have been making new friends.

Sometimes it can be difficult for children to know

how to be a good friend.

You could chat to your child about friends you have known for a long time.

What do you do that makes you a good friend?

Friends Song -There are lots of ways to share friendship.

Our "Friends Song" shows school life and emphasises friendship/team work. It's really easy to sing and chant along.
