Autumn

'Down in the jungle'.

Today we shared some singing and dancing with our friends in Nursery.

We chatted about our learning this half-term and

answered questions about African animals and tropical fruit.

We have enjoyed our topic

'Why do zebras have stripes?'

Next term we will be thinking about transport.

You could write a shopping list with your child

then ask your child to pay for the items using coins.

You could chat with your child and help describe the coins used in the UK.

We have been hunting for pairs of objects that rhyme.

Look closely at the photos to see if you can hear the words that rhyme.

You could help your child to make up lots of rhyming pairs for objects around the home.

Pop into your local library to borrow a book of nursery or nonsense rhymes.

Can you read your books together to pick out the words that rhyme?

We helped our friends to check if the container was full.

Then we decided which label we needed.

Do you have any interesting containers at home?

Perhaps you could help your child to talk about them.

We shared our ideas about how lucky we are

and we thought about how charity can help others.

We had lots of fun with Pudsey Bear.

The children in Reception have been making new friends.

Sometimes it can be difficult for children to know

how to be a good friend.

You could chat to your child about friends you have known for a long time.

What do you do that makes you a good friend?

Friends Song -There are lots of ways to share friendship.

Our "Friends Song" shows school life and emphasises friendship/team work. It's really easy to sing and chant along.
