Happy New Year!
Welcome back! It's been a great start to the new year and we look forward to this to continue for the rest of the year. The children have had a great week back with lots of exciting things taken place. We had a great practical Maths lesson where the children said the following:
"It was quite a bit challenging." Nile
"I thought this was easy however I found this difficult and tricky. When I was keep on doing it over and over again I improved." Umair
"I thought it was challenging and it made me think and it was fun." Hebah
We visited the theatre this week and watched a performance. This is what we thought:
We had great fun on this trip. The lights were shining bright and were lovely. We saw funny people on stage. We had break and then enjoyed the performance peacefully.

We did some extra creative stretches in PE today and we spelt a word using our own bodies. Can you figure it out?
This week we have been learning new Spanish words and learnt the song head, shoulders, knees and toes! The children had enjoyed doing this in Spanish.
We also created some rules for our class in our PSHE lesson which we created lyrics for and performed! Have a look below to see the rules your children think are important:
This week we have been learning about road safety, fire safety and e-safety. We now know that we must be aware of oncoming traffic when we cross the road - we should look, listen and then act.
We also learnt the importance of staying safe online because we have a responsibility to keep ourselves and others safe. We should always remember that words are very real even in cyberspace, so we must be careful with what we do and say when we are online. We are also aware that social media has age restrictions, so children under the age of 13 should get permission from an adult before using any type of social media. All of the children agreed that we should keep our passwords private as this also keeps us safe!
We also created a fire escape route and role played this to see the potential dangers involved.
See below how much the children enjoyed creating a fire escape route!
Welcome to 3M!
We are very excited to get to know you all this year. We have many exciting things planned throughout the year and we look forward to this! Please check this page for regular updates about what your children are learning about and enjoying in school!

Author of the week
We have enjoyed learning about Ted Hughes the famous author and poet for author week. All the children have created fabulous acrostic poems about this author and their peers!
A gentle reminder, please attend your child's welcome meeting. This will take place on Thursday 17th September 2015 at 2.30 pm in the Millennium room.
We look forward to a fabulous year!
