3M

We enjoyed planting seeds today and we look forward to seeing them grow! We can't wait to find out how long this takes...

We are wolves for the day! We enjoyed scratching, grumbling, howling, growling and scrounging for food. We are Wolves in the Walls...

We are musicians! We are learning how to play the glockenspiel (chime bars).

In this lesson we used our social skills in RE to work together. We had to make sure that all of us had a part to play and that the dispute is settled at the end of our performance. We did this excellently!

Happy New Year!

Welcome back! It's been a great start to the new year and we look forward to this to continue for the rest of the year. The children have had a great week back with lots of exciting things taken place. We had a great practical Maths lesson where the children said the following:

"It was quite a bit challenging." Nile

"I thought this was easy however I found this difficult and tricky. When I was keep on doing it over and over again I improved." Umair

"I thought it was challenging and it made me think and it was fun." Hebah

Cinderella Pantomime

We visited the theatre this week and watched a performance. This is what we thought:

We had great fun on this trip. The lights were shining bright and were lovely. We saw funny people on stage. We had break and then enjoyed the performance peacefully.

Arooj and Musa

Viking workshop - Today we had a visitor who shared great facts about the Vikings! We played Viking games and had lots of fun doing this and it made us really think! We witnessed a Viking burial and all the items that would be buried with Viking Kings and Queens. Look below to see all the different activities we participated in!

English - Today we were all Viking sailors travelling to a magical realm. However, our longship was destroyed by a terrible storm and our fierce leader had to guide the way. See below how well we did this:

We used the Ipads to create Popplets for our History lesson. We have learned so much about the Vikings and our Popplets really helped us to organise our ideas. They include information about Viking longhouses, family life, jobs and much more. The children really enjoyed using this app!

We worked brilliantly together to discuss and create statements to what we think mutual respect is - a fundamental value. We agree that we should treat others with the same respect we want to be treated with regardless of the differences we may have. We also understand that differences should be celebrated.

We created 3D shapes today. The pentagons had a challenge where they had to test if their cube had an open or a closed net. They had to first predict which nets were closed and then actually test this to see if they were right. This really made them think!

We did some extra creative stretches in PE today and we spelt a word using our own bodies. Can you figure it out?

Eid party! Today we had a lot of fun during our Eid celebrations and party afternoon! The children decided they wanted to have a dance off boys vs girls! Both teams did brilliantly and had lots of fun. We also played musical chairs and pass the parcel.

A gentle reminder, parents evening will take place on Thursday 1st October 2015 between 4 pm - 7pm.

Our creative balanced diets plates. The children have worked extremely hard to create a balanced diet for themselves. They were able to manipulate collage materials to help them create this. We thought it would be an excellent idea to display these plates as we could all benefit from a balanced diet!

Hola!

This week we have been learning new Spanish words and learnt the song head, shoulders, knees and toes! The children had enjoyed doing this in Spanish.

We also created some rules for our class in our PSHE lesson which we created lyrics for and performed! Have a look below to see the rules your children think are important:

Welcome back!

This week we have been learning about road safety, fire safety and e-safety. We now know that we must be aware of oncoming traffic when we cross the road - we should look, listen and then act.

We also learnt the importance of staying safe online because we have a responsibility to keep ourselves and others safe. We should always remember that words are very real even in cyberspace, so we must be careful with what we do and say when we are online. We are also aware that social media has age restrictions, so children under the age of 13 should get permission from an adult before using any type of social media. All of the children agreed that we should keep our passwords private as this also keeps us safe!

We also created a fire escape route and role played this to see the potential dangers involved.

See below how much the children enjoyed creating a fire escape route!

Welcome to 3M!

We are very excited to get to know you all this year. We have many exciting things planned throughout the year and we look forward to this! Please check this page for regular updates about what your children are learning about and enjoying in school!

Miss Mirza and Miss Roberts

Author of the week

We have enjoyed learning about Ted Hughes the famous author and poet for author week.  All the children have created fabulous acrostic poems about this author and their peers!

A gentle reminder, please attend your child's welcome meeting. This will take place on Thursday 17th September 2015 at 2.30 pm in the Millennium room.
