Mrs Sultana and Mrs Iftikar
Please remember to come to your child's welcome meeting.
It is on Monday 21st September at 2:30pm.
The meeting will be held in the Millennium room.
It is important that you attend this meeting if possible.
This week we have been learning about the author, Oliver Jeffers.
We have read lots of books and have learnt about Oliver Jeffers himself.
Queen Elizabeth II
This year, Queen Elizabeth II has become the longest reigning monarch!
We celebrated this by drawing her portrait, singing the national anthem and learning about her life.
As part of our literacy lessons, we have been learning some poems. Some of the children performed one to us!
The poem is called 'Please Mrs Butler' by Allan Ahlberg.
We hope that you and your family have a lovely Eid
Black History Day
We learnt about people in other countries who need our help.
We also learnt about our rights in this country.
We went to St. Martin's Church in the Bull Ring.
The children learnt a lot about how Christians celebrate Christmas and how they pray.
We celebrated Christmas in school by having a party! The children dressed up and played lovely party games!
Merry Christmas from all at Alston!
Happy New Year!
We spent the day learning about maths!
First we learnt about shapes.
Next, we learnt about time.
Finally, we learnt about measuring! We used these skills to make delicious cakes!
